2019 VINTAGE
The 2019 growing season was what many would consider a near-perfect and 'classic' vintage. March and April received heavy rainfall, allowing the vines to soak up and nourish the robust and soil-enriching cover crops. Late rains in May were followed by summer heat that caused canopies to push as our vineyard managers rallied to manage their vigorous growth. We saw very few heat spikes throughout the warm (but not hot) summer months, giving the grapes the luxury of an extended hang time. Optimal growing conditions rsulted in one of the highest yields in recent history, bearing gorgeous fruit with vibrant color, balanced structure and brilliant acidity.

TASTING NOTES
Rich, complex aromatics of blackberry pie, ripe plum, allspice, and black licorice emerge from the glass and evolve into hints of black tea and herbal notes of lavender and rosemary. First sip confirms a concentrated black fruit core that gives way to complex layers of baking spice, dark chocolate, mocha and a touch of anise. As the wine opens in the glass, the mid-palate is lush yet silky, with youthful, resolved and integrated tannins. This wine is ready to be nejoyed now and will also benefit from a little time in the cellar.
