2023 Benevolent Dictator Pinot Noir Russian River Valley
2023 Vintage
With the late ripening 2023 vintage barely in our rearview mirror, we can say that it is turning out to be an exceptional vintage. The cold rainy winter delayed every stage of ripening from budbreak to veraison to harvest. The long hang time was both a gift and a source of anxiety as we all waited for each grape to achieve ideal ripeness. As the late summer days grew shorter and we headed into harvest our patience was rewarded with grapes of amazing flavors, complexity and superb quality.
2023 Tasting Notes
The dark garnet color alludes to the intensity of this Russian River vintage. The aromas are a complex medley of juicy blueberries, cherries and ripe pomegranate. You’ll find a soft undertone of toasty vanilla evolving into classic Russian River root beer and spice aromas. Juicy and round on entry, the luscious core of ripe berries is supported by integrated tannins. This Pinot Noir is everything we have come to expect from an exceptional vineyard and vintage.
